Tajikistan is a country in Central Asia. It is the poorest country in the region and it is one of the poorest countries in the world. It has borders with: Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China. The summers are warm and withers are mild. The capital city is Dushanbe. The size of this country is 143.100 km2. It has the population of 7.211.884 people.
Citizens of: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Mongolia, Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Jordan, Moldova and Russian don’t need a visa. However, they can stay up to 90 days. After that time, they must leave the country. Citizens of India, get a visa upon their arrival. It lasts 45 days. Citizens of other countries need a visa. You must check with your embassy in order to see details about a visa for Tajikistan.
The best way to go to this country is by plane. The national carrier is Tajik Air. It has good connections with several Russian cities and some other Asian cities. But, there are other airline carriers that offer you connection with: Frankfurt, Istanbul and several other cities. It isn’t recommended to travel by car, because of problems in the region. Also, you cannot go by boat. However, you can use a train from Moscow, but it is a long trip.
Tajik is the official language. It has some similarities with Persian. But, Russian language is widely spoken, and almost all people understand it. But, not many people understand the English language.
The official currency is the Somoni. The Russian food is common, so you will eat it a lot.
