Britain Faces Years Of Unusually Cold Winters - Experts
Britain might end up facing some of the coldest winters ever witnessed in the country. This is according to experts. The main reason as to why this might actually be a reality is because of the fact that there is a plunge in solar activity. This plunge is the one that is threatening to bring with a "little ice age."
According to experts, the past few years has seen the giving out light and warmth in levels that haven't been seen before and as a result many fear that there might be a repeat of the infamous "Maunder Minimum". When the Maunder Minimum struck the country was forced to bear some very low temperatures. In fact, the last time that this type of phenomenon happen it brought with arctic whiteouts during winter that led to a river known as Thames freezing out.
The study, which was led by the Met Office, has warned that despite the fact that the effect might be offset by global warming that is currently occurring, Britain are bound to experience some very cold winter seasons in the years to come.
While speaking about the study, a spokesperson for the researchers stated that, "in an event that there very low activity in the solar system then Britain is bound to experience cold winter seasons than usual."
